There are lots of TV series from past to present that deals with the lives of physicians. Some of the popular ones were E.R., House and of course, Grey’s Anatomy. Grey’s Anatomy is not talking about the medical side of physicians unlike E.R. and House, but it talks about the lives of these doctors and it’s one reason why it became such a hit.

Grey’s Anatomy circles around the life of Dr. Meredith Grey, who started as a surgical intern in Seattle Grace Hospital. She is joined by other characters such as Alex Karev, George O’Malley, Izzie Stevens and Cristina Yang. These are the 5 focal characters but other characters are Miranda Bailey, Richard Webber, Preston Burke, Derek Shepherd and from the third season, Lexie Grey who is the half sister of Meredith Grey.

Grey’s Anatomy is now on its 5th season and it continues to gain its popularity. It’s a great show and it’s worth watching. It had some controversies in the past especially the one about gender discrimination when Isaiah Washington called T.R. Knight a faggot. This caused uproar from the Gay & Lesbian Alliance against Defamation. Because of this negative publicity, ABC had removed Isaiah Washington from the show.

This TV series is really full of drama but it can get quite funny too. All the characters blend in so beautifully that the show isn’t just focusing on Dr. Meredith Grey but with the whole cast as well. They each have their stories to tell and on one episode, it’s one character that gets the lime light and on the next, it’s the other one. They share the stage, so to speak, and that’s what makes it an awesome show.

John Gray’s Ghost Whisperer

Ghost Whisperer have 4 seasons now and it’s continuing to go strong. It’s the kind of TV series that when you watch it, you just have to see every episode so you won’t miss a thing. It’s addictive. It’s not the typical show about ghosts where you get goosebumps and it’s all just to freak you out. Ghost Whisperer is very unique as it lets you in to the lives of these ghosts and you actually would get emotional with them.

Ghost Whisperer Season 1 was amazing. When Season 2 came, it was not as great but it was still really good. Third season, it was addictive. 4th season and you get really sad that Melinda Gordon’s handsome husband had to die. Of course, the story wasn’t that simple but that’s just what makes Ghost Whisperer such a nice TV series to watch.

Ghost Whisperer takes you to the life of Melinda Gordon, a woman who owns an antique shop and can talk and see ghosts. You may say she has a third eye and a few people do have that, but hers is a gift and she wants to bring as many souls as she can into the light. She must first help them with their unfinished business first before they can actually see that light. She gets a lot of raising eyebrows but eventually, she does not only help the dead but those people they have left too. They get to move on and all thanks to the beautiful Melinda Gordon.

Ghost Whisperer is such a great show and its fans are hoping for many more seasons.

Heroes struggle to get back on track

Heroes used to be the “it” TV series. Everyone was using the catch phrase “save the cheerleader, save the world” as the popularity and unique story line of heroes has caught the imagination of the viewing public. Everyone was glued to the tube when heroes was on.

But those days are long gone. Heroes may still be here for season three but there have been some serious problems and viewer complaints regarding the plot of the show – too many unnecessary characters, a story that doesn’t seem to move forward fast and Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka) seemed to be less funny every episode. Not that we’re looking for a funny hero but he used to be so charming with the idea of helping the world.

The feedback however, is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to production. A whooping $4 million per episode seemed not enough as there have been constant reports on over-budgeting.

As a way of answering the problem of the lack of quality of shows or even possibly in overspending, NBC opted to terminate the services of Jesse Alexander and Jeph Loeb, writers and executive producers of the show since its start.

This movement is a bit of a gamble for the network executives. Alexander and Loeb have been very productive for the show but they may have been off-target as the show progressed. Tim Kring should step up once again and haul his writers to salvage the show. Heroes may reach season 4 but that’s still in limbo as season 3 is still trying to get back on track.
